I’ve been here for a little while.

I go into any diner I see.

I carry my bags up the 5 flights of stairs to my room in a walk-up and my thighs hurt and i’m out of breath for way too long.

I get the J to work. I zone out and get off at the wrong stop approx 30% of the time.

I spend a lot of money in the vintage shops but still wear the same baggy jeans and hoodie every day.

I get a tuna sandwich from the deli most days. The owner calls me ‘lady’ or ‘lovey’ and I feel like a local.

I sit in an underground room and try and write songs. Mixed results. There’s a giant beanbag here which I lie on while I scroll Tiktok during my ‘breaks’ and I pray the studio engineer doesn’t come in and catch me at it.

I meet old friends and I try and make new ones. I text people to hang out and feel like a small child asking another if they want to be my friend.

I am shocked by the total at the Whole Foods checkout.

I watch reality tv on my laptop in bed and then I sleep ten hours and hope that my sweet flatmate doesn’t think i’m weird or depressed.

I try not to compare everything to SATC (i’m Miranda with shades of Carrie if you were wondering)

I listen to U2. Can’t explain it.

I go to the hip yoga spot and marvel at everyone’s bodies.

I think about what my teenage self would think about all of this.

I use Sally when they ask for a name at the pizza slice place over the road. The combination of my accent and my name just causes too much trouble.

I get excited about L4.

I feel completely ungrounded but I know it’s good for me.

I’ll miss this when I go home after the tour, but I’ll be back.

I worry this feels like a tumblr post from 2011 but… fuck it.

US/CA tour starts tonight in NYC!!!! <3 <3 <3 Then onto Washington DC, Philly, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago and Minneapolis.

I’m excited to meet you all, and to spend time with the other artists who will be joining me.
